Stud Bolts

Introduction

Stud Bolts are essentially threaded rods with threads on both ends. Typically, they are renowned for their strength, corrosion resistance, and ease of maintenance. Hence, they
are used primarily in high-pressure applications to connect flanges, valves, and other pipeline components.

Unlike conventional Stud Bolts they do not possess a head and are engineered with ‘Precision’ to be used with two nuts—one on each end—for a secure and balanced fastening.

We at Metal Forge India, a leading Manufacturer of Stainless Steel / Carbon Steel in India offer you premium Stud Bolts and other fastening solutions that deliver ‘High-Performance’. Also, they have been engineered by us using ‘Precision’ engineering to meet global standards like ASTM, ASME, and DIN. Our Stud Bolts are manufactured using high grade materials, sizes, and thread types that suit diverse industrial needs.

Types of Stud Bolts:

Typically, it is depending on the different industrial requirements that there are different types of Stud Bolts. They are as follows:

1. Tap End Stud Bolts

The thread lengths of Tap end studs are unequal on each end. One has longer thread (nut end), while the other (tap end) is shorter. It is screwed into a tapped hole.

2. Fully Threaded Stud Bolts

These are Stud Bolts threaded across their entire length. Usually, they are used with two nuts, one on each end. They are ideally suited for flange bolting in high-pressure systems where a tight and secure seal is critical.

3. Double End Stud Bolts

This bolt type has equal thread lengths on both ends and an unthreaded shank in the middle. Typically, used when two components must be fastened together with nuts on both sides.

4. Reduced Shank Stud Bolts

Stud Bolts possess a reduced diameter in the unthreaded section between the two threaded ends. It is engineered with ‘Precision’ to reduce stress concentration in the bolt under high loading.

5. Continuous Thread Studs

Referred to as “all-thread studs, “usually cut to length as per application requirements. Usually, they are similar to fully threaded studs.

Industrial Uses of Stud Bolts

It is for high strength, reliability, and corrosion resistance that Stud Bolts are regularly used in critical fastening applications. They are as given below:

    • Oil and Gas Industry
    • Power generation
    • Aerospace & Defense
    • Water Treatment & Desalination
    • Pulp & Paper Industry
    • Mining & Earthmoving Equipment
    • Construction & Infrastructure
